culture360.org is one of the official partners of the 3rd Edition of the Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) that will take place in Singapore between 5 October and 17 November 2012.

Between 15 August and 15 September, the culture360.org readers were invited to vote for their favourite set of images submitted by the Asian and European photographers that were not selected in the official programme of the Festival.

As a result of the online photo contest voting, a special projection showcasing the shortlisted images from the five finalists will take place on 6 October 2012 during the Singapore International Photography Festival.

culture360.org will also support the forum titled “Perspectives from Asia and Europe” on 13 October at the Singapore Art Museum. The panel will comprise of the 3rd edition of SIPF curators Alejandro Castellote (Spain), Patricia de la Motte (France/Singapore) and Zeng Han (China) who will share their comments and insights on the this year’s selection, looking in particular at the strong entries received from France, Italy and Spain as well as China and Southeast Asia.

Project Updates

  • Over 150 people attended the Evening Presentation of ‘Shared Stories of Asia and Europe’ during the 3rd Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) at the National Museum of Singapore (6 October 2012).

    The special projection showcased five finalists of the online photo contest launched by culture360.org in collaboration with SIPF during the month of August. ASEF’s Cultural Exchange Project Manager, Valentina Riccardi, introduced this unique showcase of Asian and European photographers, selected online by the culture360.org readers.

    As part of the Festival programme, culture360.org supported the discussion forum ‘Perspectives from Asia and Europe’ that took place at the Singapore Art Museum (13 October 2012). Over 100 participants attended this talk with the curators of the Festival about this year’s selection, looking in particular at the strong entries received from France, Italy and Spain as well as China and Southeast Asia.

  • To celebrate its 15th anniversary, the Asia-Europe Foundation through its online portal culture360.org and in partnership with the Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) is launching its first online photo contest.

    culture360.org and SIPF are inviting Asian and European photographers that have not been selected in the official programme of the Festival, to submit their photographs online.

    Selected photos will be posted for voting on http://culture360.org/category/photo-contest/.

    The culture360.org readers will be invited to vote from 15 August to 15 September by “liking” it and “sharing” it on social media platforms.

    All the shortlisted images from the five finalists will be showcased in a special projection on 6 October 2012 during the Singapore International Photography Festival.
