ASEF, in partnership with the NUS European Studies Programme, launched the publication, "The EU Through The Eyes Of Asia: Media, Public And Elite Perceptions In China, Japan, Korea, Singapore And Thailand."
The publication presents the findings of the first two phases of ASEF's “ The EU through the Eyes of Asia” project, a major academic collaboration to measure the perceptions of the EU in the Asian countries of the ASEM process. The analysis provides scientifically compelling feedback that can assist in policy making, as well as makes recommendations to the EU, third countries, and the media.
In conjunction with the book launch, the ASEF held a presentation on public and elite perceptions of the EU, followed by a high-level panel discussion with John Chalmers (Senior Editor, Reuters), Joachim Ihrcke (President, EuroCham), and Assoc. Prof. Barnard Turner (Academic Convenor, NUS European Studies Programme).
