Asia Europe Economic Forum

This year’s 14th Asia Europe Economic Forum (AEEF) on 20-21 September 2017, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, will be held in conjunction with the 7th ASEM Economic Minister Meeting , taking place on 21-22 September 2017 in Seoul, Korea. The 2017 AEEF will focus on the prospects for the Asia-Europe economic cooperation in a new world order.

With growing recognition and consolidation of the linkage between the European and Asian economy, consortium partners from Asia and Europe agreed in 2006 to establish the Asia Europe Economic Forum. The Forum is ought to serve as a high level platform, giving Asian and European policy and economic experts an occasion for in-depth research-based exchanges on global issues of mutual interest.

Since 2007, the forum has organized 13 meetings in Asia and Europe alternately to cover a wide range of issues on the global economy and economic cooperation between Asia and Europe. The conferences feature specialised research papers and the outcomes are channelled to policy makers in both regions.

The Asia Europe Foundation has initially joined the consortium in 2013. ASEF works together with a consortium of top think tanks in both Asia and Europe to organise the AEEF programmeand has since supported a number of conferences, including:
