The 13th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights will link human rights concerns to the environment and climate change debate within the ASEM framework. The Seminar, ‘Human Rights and the Environment’, will take place on 21-23 October in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The event will be an opportunity to develop recommendations for Asian and European policy makers to protect and strengthen human rights in relation to environment protection. The working group discussions of this 120 person seminar will focus on issues including: The Interaction between Sustainable Development, Environment and Human Rights; Access to Information, Participatory Rights and Access to Justice; Actors, Institutions and Governance; and Climate Change and Human Rights Implications.

The seminar series is co-organised by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (delegated by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs), the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs. The 13th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights is hosted by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish Institute for Human Rights.
