ASEF Mobility First!: Mobility Partner of Animistic Apparatus at Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival

Mobility First! - ASEF Cultural Mobility Initiative 2019

The Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media (CREAM) is a leading centre for research, scholarship and professional practice in visual and media arts, design and music and is based in the Westminster School of Arts. CREAM has strong expertise and international profile in Southeast Asian cinema, art, and curation. In partnership with arts and culture institutions and industry, it regularly organises public screenings, exhibitions, workshops and talks featuring outstanding works and artists from Southeast Asia and the broader region who are very underrepresented in the UK and Europe.

In its 3rd edition, Animistic Apparatus will be a programme of site-specific moving image installations, performances, artists' talks, field encounters and networking opportunities at the Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival. The supported cultural professionals will install their works at archaeological and historical ruins in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, give lectures and talks about their works and run workshops targeting emerging artists and local young people revolving around the topics of animistic rituals and moving images practices.

Through Mobility First!, ASEF will be supporting the mobility of 1 European and 3 Asian nationals to participate in Animistic Apparatus at Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival from 19 to 22 September 2019, held in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, United Kingdom.
