Launch of the ASEF Outlook Report 2016/2017

ASEF will organise a public launch of the ASEF Outlook Report 2016/2017, CONNECTIVITY: Facts and Perspectives in conjunction with the 7th Model ASEM on 7 July 2016 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This is ASEF’s 3rd edition of its Outlook Report series.

The ASEF Outlook Report 2016/2017 provides valuable insights into the compelling topic of connectivity. The report assesses the level of Asia-Europe connectivity and acts as a useful reference for stakeholders active in both regions. Similar to the previous two editions, this edition consists of two volumes. While volume I presents data illustrating the level of connectivity between Asia and Europe, volume II draws on selected experts’ views on the past, present, and future developments of Asia-Europe connectivity. Digital connectivity, the economics of connectivity, connectivity in the media, culture, education and governance are among the thematic areas extensively explored in this edition.

Set ahead of the 11th ASEM Summit (ASEM11) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, the upcoming launch of the ASEF Outlook Report 2016/2017 will be opened by Ambassador ZHANG Yan, ASEF’s Executive Director. Following this opening, a panel discussion will be held focusing on recent developments and future outlook of Asia-Europe connectivity. Notable panellists will include Ambassador Luvsantseran ORGIL, ASEM Senior Official for Mongolia, and the Ambassador of the European Union to Mongolia (to be confirmed).
