Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP) was jointly established by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in 1989.  RRC.AP responds to the region’s needs for capacity building in science, assessment, policy tools, emerging environmental issues, knowledge and information dissemination; and pilot projects for demonstration and replication.

The Centre supports and serves as secretariat to several regional initiatives such as the Acid Deposition Monitoring Network in East Asia (EANET), the Atmospheric Brown Cloud (ABC), the Malé Declaration on Control and Prevention of Air Pollution and its Likely Transboundary Effects, and the Regional Forum on Environment and Health.  Among other activities, RRC.AP conducts international workshops on climate change, sustainable energy, youth awareness on air pollution and health impact assessment.
