The University of Alcalá (UAH) was founded in 1499 and from the beginning was one of the most influential and prestigious institutions of higher education in southern Europe. Its impressive Renaissance architectural inheritance has been recognized by its having been chosen as one among the five universities in the world that have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Located only thirty kilometres from the centre of Madrid, the University of Alcalá is a modern institution with approximately 30000 students. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes covering all fields of knowledge.

We are one of the leading Spanish universities in number of international students and promote a multicultural environment. Each year receive more than 5,000 international students from 100 countries. We encourage teaching in English and foster international mobility students, and teaching and administrative staff.
