Centre d'Etudes Prospectives et d'Informations Internationales

The Centre d’Etudes Prospectives et d’Informations Internationales (CEPII) is France’s main centre for the study of international economics. Created in 1978, it is an independent public organisation. CEPII’s research programme is set by its Board, which is composed of leading government officials, business personalities, trade unionists and academics. The research is evaluated annually by a scientific committee. All research carried out by CEPII is published on its website and in academic journals. A report on the execution of the research programme is published annually after approval by the Board.

CEPII takes particular care to provide expert advice, based on its research, to actors in both the public and private sectors. It has regular contacts with the main European and international organisations, with public administrations and bodies, with companies and with social partners. CEPII is a member of the GTAP consortium and belongs to various research networks. CEPII is specialised in international trade, macroeconomics and finance. It has a long tradition of structural and medium-term analyses as well as economic policy appraisal. Typical issues studied are international financial architecture, the international monetary system, trade policies, competitiveness, migration, growth, policy inter - dependence and foreign direct investment.
