Zero Plastic Week

The Zero Plastic Week is a non-formal initiative started in 2012 by a group of 6 volunteers in the Netherlands. The  main purpose is to make people aware of excessive use of plastic which accompanies our daily lives and its detrimental consequences to the environment, including the phenomenon of the so-called "plastic soup", which is rapidly increasing in size. Zero Plastic Week's main path of action is convincing consumers to abstain from buying any new plastic for one week, which usually creates a tangible sense of our level of plastic dependency.
