New AECFest Supported Residency: D\u00e9racin\u00e9 Rhizome<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>

The AECFest residency programme<\/a> <\/strong>nurtures cross-cultural collaboration<\/strong> and knowledge exchange<\/strong> by providing artists with time, space and resources to develop new artistic projects. Closing off the 2025 cycle, <\/span>D\u00e9racin\u00e9 Rhizome <\/span><\/i>brings together 8 artists from Asia and Europe for a virtual collaboration centred on the topic of \u201chuman mobility\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cgravity\u201d<\/strong> in European cities.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Conceptualised by Orangcosong<\/strong>, an artist collective led by Minori Sumiyoshiyama and Chikara Fujiwara from Japan<\/strong>, the<\/span> project provides a platform for artists to share perspectives and co-create across borders<\/strong>. <\/span>From November to December of 2025<\/strong>, 8 participating artists from China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Viet Nam<\/strong>, <\/em>based in countries across Europe such as Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland<\/strong>,\u00a0will connect virtually to i<\/span>nvestigate the flows, displacements, and connections that shape human movement across cultures and cities<\/strong>.<\/span> Inspired by circular ecosystems and the experience of being uprooted from one\u2019s \u2018natural\u2019 environment, <\/span>D\u00e9racin\u00e9 Rhizome<\/span><\/b> reimagines <\/span>the possibilities of <\/span>cross-continental and cross-cultural collaborations, <\/span>highlighting how artists can remain interconnected even while physically apart.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The results of D\u00e9racin\u00e9 Rhizome, captured through creative works and visual documentation<\/strong>, will be shared in 202<\/strong>6, highlighting new perspectives on movement, displacement, and the ties that bind us across continents.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Since 2014, he has initiated and developed international projects, such as \u201cEngeki Quest\u201d, a walk-based tour project that has been realized in numerous cities around the world, and \u201cIsLand Bar\u201d with multinational artists at ADAM artist lab in Taipei. Living on and off in Europe and in Indonesia, Eddie Hara describes himself as a kind of a marginal artist who is unafraid to give his opinions on political problems, gender and racial issues, environmental problems, and the prevalent poverty and the resulting violence in our society. Co-creation and collaboration is vital to her artistic beliefs.
