For this project commissioned by the Chinese government, he travelled through the \u2018Middle Kingdom\u2019 and recorded its beauty for posterity. The project has been shown in 40 countries around the world and so far consists of\u00a0<strong>20 series about Chinese culture, its countryside and people<\/strong>. He is currently working on 2 new chapters for the German and Italian embassies in China, namely\u00a0<em>German Story<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Italian Story<\/em>.<\/p><p>Zhao is the only Asian photographer to be invited by Nikon to become one of its prestigious Grand Total Top Ten Global Photographers. Apart from his work for Chinese governmental bodies, he also takes commissions from major international businesses.
