The ASEF Young Leaders Summit (ASEFYLS) is a Youth platform that connects young people with the Decision-Makers and Leaders from Asian & European countries.
The 5th ASEF Young Leaders Summit (ASEFYLS5) takes place from August to December 2023. It focuses on the theme of ‘Leadership & Society 5.0’ and incorporates 3 spheres for youth leadership: 1) self-leadership (you), 2) team leadership (we) and 3) societal leadership (all).
The ASEFYLS5 Navigators Training took place from 21 – 25 June 2023 in Singapore. The Navigators are selected alumni from ASEF’s Education Department and partner organisations who will join the ASEFYLS5 programme as resource persons. The Navigators Training brought the Navigators together for 4 days capacity building in preparation for their subsequent roles in leading teams of participants in the subseqent programme.
Highlights of the programme included:

- 💡 Presentation on Society 5.0 by Dr Paul Wang from NEC Asia Pacific Pte Ltd
- Roundtable discussion with Liana Tang from Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI), Geraldine Lam from Social Impact Catalyst, and Michael Klemm from Singapore Education Network
- 🏛️ Dialogue with members of ASEF’s Board of Governors and diplomatic representatives: Ms Angela Robinson (Australia), Amb Colette Taquet (Belgium), Amb Michaela Fronkova (Czech Republic), Amb Judit Pach (Hungary), High Commissioner Rukhsana Afzaal (Pakistan), Ms Jenny Egermark (Sweden) & Mr Joel Henri Brunner (Switzerland)
