Joint visit of ASEF and the Government of Japan Delegation to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Society (IFRC) Philippines to oversee and discuss the implementation of the ongoing project under the strengthening preparedness and response to COVID-19 and other Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Ambassador MORIKAWA Toru met with Dr Gwendolyn Pang, Secretary General of the Philippine Red Cross to understand PRC’s pivotal role in public health sector of the Philippines. The discussion also paved the way to gain insights into PRC’s wide network, partnerships, and most importantly their extensive outreach in providing relief, health care and welfare assistance to the most vulnerable population.

Ambassador MORIKAWA also met with Dr. Christie Monina Nalupta, Assistant Secretary General and Director of Blood Services of the Philippine Red Cross, Mr. Sanjeev Kafley, Head of Delegation of the IFRC Philippines along with other key figures from both PRC and IFRC Philippines.
