The Shanghai Forum 2023 kicked off on October 27, with a focus on the theme, “Towards a More Inclusive Globalization: Asia’s New Responsibilities”. Nearly 500 guests from world-renowned think tanks, universities, public and private sectors attended the Forum, with about half of the guests from abroad.
As the 4th ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory was a side-event of the Shanghai Forum, ASEF was invited to co-organise a SubForum Discussion on Digital Security and Openness on 27 October 2023, featuring our ASEFInnoLab4 Speakers Dr Lampros STERGIOULAS, UNESCO Chair in AI & Data Science for Society, The Hague University of Applied Sciences; and our ASEFInnoLab4 Facilitator Dr Claudioa RIVERA, Dean, Riga Business School, Riga Technical University, Latvia.
On the second day of the Shanghai Forum, Fudan University Development Institute and ASEF Education Department organised Roundtable discussions on The Future of Artificial Intelligence Innovation.
In the context of inclusive globalization, this roundtable focused on how to face the future of artificial intelligence innovation in Asian and European countries, and how to use inclusive power to govern a series of international relations, science and technology ethics and social governance arising from the development and innovation of AI. The roundtable presented a cross-disciplinary and multi-perspective discussion on education, governance, sustainable development, economics, public health and media, to contribute to the future of AI innovation.
