30th ASEF Board of Governors’ Meeting

ASEF hosted the 30th ASEF Board of Governors’ Meeting on Thursday and Friday, 21-22 November 2013. The ASEF Board of Governors, representing 51 ASEM members, met in Singapore to review ASEF's strategic directions to ensure its alignment with the ASEM priorities as well as to discuss ASEF’s financial matters, human resources and proposed projects for 2014. Prior to this Meeting, the members of the Finance & Audit Committee (FAC) and the Executive Committee (ExCo) met on Tuesday and Wednesday, 19-20 November 2013 respectively.

During the Meeting, the Board of Governors approved ASEF’s proposed 2014 budget and all 19 projects submitted for 2014. The Board also elected Ambassador Claude BLANCHEMAISON, ASEF’s Governor for France, as the Vice-Chairperson of the Board for 2013-14. The current Chairperson Ambassador Rosario G. MANALO, ASEF Governor for the Philippines, who succeeded the former ASEF Chairperson Ambassador Roland VAN REMOORTELE (Belgium) after he stepped down in October 2013, will continue her tenure in 2014.
