ASEF Executive Director on Bulgarian National Radio

Published on 04 Mar 2015

ASEF Executive Director Ambassador ZHANG Yan visited Bulgaria on 16-17 February to explore new partnerships with the Bulgarian government and institutions which would be interested to collaborate with ASEF on concrete projects. He met with representatives from the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Sofia Municipal Government, the Diplomatic Institute and Sofia University.

During his visit, Ambassador ZHANG was interviewed by Bulgarian National Radio for their programme "Horizon” on the role of Bulgaria in Asia-Europe cooperation under the ASEM process.  Ambassador ZHANG highlighted Bulgaria’s active membership at a political and economic level and pointed to the country’s potential in getting increasingly involved in all areas of ASEF’s work.  Ambassador ZHANG also expressed ASEF’s interest in working closely with Bulgaria’s reputable experts and scientists, which could also be helpful for developing deeper relations between Asia and Europe.
