Programme
Established in 2021, the ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory (ASEFInnoLab) creates opportunities for higher education managers from 51 countries in Asia and Europe to expand their professional network, exchange knowledge, and collaboratively build their capacity to address common global challenges. ASEF believes that higher education managers are in a unique position to transform and modernise their institutions by introducing tech-savvy, inclusive and sustainable policies. ASEFInnoLab is a platform for higher education stakeholders to exchange good practices and co-create new ideas moving away from business as usual and developing something extraordinary.
BACKGROUND ON THE ASEFInnoLab
Established in 2021, the ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory (ASEFInnoLab) creates opportunities for higher education stakeholders from Asia and Europe to expand their professional network, exchange knowledge, and collaboratively build their capacity to address common global challenges. ASEF believes that higher education academics and managers are in a unique position to transform and modernise their institutions by introducing tech-savvy, inclusive and sustainable initiatives that positively impact students, staff, the organisation and its ecosystems as well. ASEFInnoLab is a platform for higher education stakeholders to exchange good practices and co-create new ideas moving away from business as usual and developing something extraordinary.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
Expand Knowledge
Expand understanding of Universities’ Role in AI Innovation Ecosystems and of build capacity to enhance it, especially in the fields of governance, education and sustainable development
Build Peer-to-Peer Networks
Through the interactive sessions that facilitate exchange of knowledge and good practices, the project enables the building of P2P networks. Participants are invited to join the Asia-Europe For AI (AE4AI) network after the project concludes to keep the connectivity and spin-off their innovative ideas on how to improve strategies and practices in their institutions.
Develop Concrete Outputs
Practitioners, academics and managers participating in the project work together to co-create tangible outputs such as Action plans, Innovation Plans, or Issues Papers that promote sustainable collaboration in AI teaching, research and innovation in Asia and Europe.
