This first meeting of the Asia-Europe Democratisation And Justice series involved experts from non-government organisations, think tanks, the academe, and regional institutions, as well as former policy makers. Participants explored how best to promote a co-operative network and agreed on a framework for the Asia-Europe Democratisation And Justice Series. They also suggested new ideas for activities under the series and developed two detailed workshop concepts for 2008.

HE Neou Kassie, President, Peace and Development Institute, and former Secretary of State, Ministry of Justice, Cambodia.

Prof. Chung-Si Ahn, Department of Political Science, Seoul National University, Korea.

Alexander Lay, Lawyer, Lubis, Santosa & Maulana, and Member of Transparency International, Indonesia.

Rajesh Kumar, Fellow, Developing Countries Research Centre (DCRC), University of Delhi, India.
