OVERVIEW

This colloquium was held on the theme “How Can Europe Help Asia Without Provoking A Backlash?” It was attended by over 60 participants from national, regional, and international media organisations in Asia, Europe, Australia, and the US. Speakers at the colloquium included Indonesia’s Jusuf Wanandi, Thailand’s Amaret Silaon, Japan’s Takeshi Kondo, and international economist Kenneth Courtis. The speakers’ presentations were followed by a question-and-answer session chaired by then-ASEF Executive Director Tommy Koh.
