25 Experts to Meet on the Future of Heritage Cities

Managing Heritage Cities in Asia and Europe: the Role of Public-Private Partnerships

gadjah_mada_headofficeIn preparation for the 5th ASEM Culture Ministers’ Meeting (5th ASEM CMM) in September 2012, some 25 experts will meet in Yogyakarta, Indonesia (12-14 July 2012) to discuss how public-private partnerships can help in the sustainable management of heritage cities and historic urban landscapes. 

Their recommendations from this meeting, Managing Heritage Cities in Asia and Europe: The Role of Public-Private Partnerships, will be presented to ASEM governments at the 5th ASEM CMM, whose theme is Managing Heritage Cities for a Sustainable Future. Hailing from 11 countries in Asia and Europe, the governmental and heritage experts will share good practices from both regions.

A forum open to the public will be held alongside the experts’ meeting.  

The meeting and forum are organised by the Asia-Europe Foundation with its partner, the Centre for Heritage Conservation, Department of Architecture and Planning at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta.
