A Panel Discussion on "Enhancing the Socio-Economic Welfare of Labour Migrants: Good Practices from Asia and Europe" was held on 10 June 2014 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. The discussion was held as a side event at the 26th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, and was organised by Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung's Office for Regional Cooperation in Asia (FES). The main purpose of the event was to present the Asia-Europe Migration Project's upcoming publication "A Triple Win in Migration: Ensuring Rights to Protect All Workers' Rights", and to share its key findings and recommendations with all the particpants.

The discussion focussed on essential policies in support of fair and equitable migration systems, reducing migration risks and providing migrants with access to protection, and the integration of migrants in sending and receiving countries. The Panel also looked at the obligations and accountability of corporate actors in order to support the state's efforts in preventing human rights violations against migrants workers throughout their employment processes. The discussion was attended by a high-profile audience, mainly experts on labour and human rights issues, and the main recommendations of the upcoming publication were well-received.
