OVERVIEW

This symposium brought together representatives from universities and higher education institutions in 25 ASEM member countries to discuss co-operation in higher education.

Participants consisted of individuals who were in charge of international co-operation, student exchange programmes, or international student offices. Those from organisations directly related to the promotion of student exchanges and mobility, as well as international students studying at Tsukuba University, were also invited to attend.

Discussions were conducted in four sessions on the following topics:

- Fostering student exchanges among higher education institutes of the 25 ASEM countries

- The student perspective on studying abroad

- Fostering high school student exchanges among the 25 ASEM countries

- Presentation on the ASEM Education Hub
