ASEF Publication Launch

Asia-Europe Democratisation and Justice (AEDJ) - Political Parties and the Citizen Workshop

The Asia-Europe Foundation’s (ASEF) publication Political Parties and Citizen Movements in Asia and Europe was presented on 27 February 2015 in Manila, the Philippines.

As part of the Asia-Europe Democratisation and Justice (AEDJ) project by ASEF, the Hanns Seidel Foundation and International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), the publication looked closely at initiatives and activities undertaken by political parties, citizen movements and civil society organisations in Asia and Europe. Based on 8 different case studies, the publication highlighted common issues, challenges and lessons that can be shared between the 2 regions.

The launch event in Manila, co-hosted by Akbayan Citizens’ Action Party and Active Citizenship Foundation (ACF), presented some of the case studies in the publication, which are relevant to the Philippine context.
