Climate Change is one of the greatest threats we face globally. Studies have shown that climate change is already having a great impact on our quality of life and will continue to do so. There are some regions of the world in which the effects of climate change are more severe than others, but in such a globalised world, it affects us all. In 2022, at the Conference of the Parties (COP) 27 in Egypt, countries agreed to develop new funding arrangements that can mobilise resources to help developing economies suffering directly — and disproportionately — from the impacts of climate change. In relation to the climate change challenge, education is considered one of the key elements for large-scale social change.
Considering the vast diversity of education systems, it is important that we find common ground on how to tackle this multifaceted and complex issue. One of the approaches that has risen in the past years is to focus on Climate Change Education (CCE). However, there is little understanding of what CCE is, what it encompasses and what are its aims. To this end, ASEF conducted a survey in 40 countries in Asia and Europe.
We are pleased to announce that the Survey Report on Climate Change Education (CCE) will be published in first half of 2023.
