The ASEFInnoLab7 White Paper Collection, developed under the theme “The Role of Universities in Advancing AI for Good”, brings together nine collaboratively developed white papers examining how higher education institutions can shape the development, governance, and application of artificial intelligence (AI) in service of the common good.
Produced through the seventh edition of the ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory (ASEFInnoLab7), the collection represents the culmination of months of cross-regional collaboration among academics, researchers, and higher education professionals from Asia and Europe. Addressing key challenges and opportunities across three thematic areas — AI for Global Good, AI for Public Interest, and AI for Institutional Excellence — the papers offer evidence-informed perspectives, strategic frameworks, and actionable policy recommendations to support university leaders, policymakers, and other higher education stakeholders in advancing responsible, inclusive, and socially beneficial AI.
Collectively, the nine white papers contribute to ongoing policy dialogue and institutional efforts to strengthen universities’ role as key actors in AI innovation ecosystems. The collection comprises the following titles:
