Aéras is a visionary journey into the sound of silk—a delicate whisper and a dialogue that bridges cultures, shared ideals, and spaces across the globe. The project explores an unprecedented sonic realm: the voice of silk, interpreted by musicians united in the pursuit of beauty rooted in centuries of craftsmanship and mastery.

Silk becomes a true musical instrument, from the subtle sounds of rubbing to its gentle hovering resonance, embodying lightness, preciousness, and elegance. Technological and computerized sound processing allows this legendary fabric to finally express its voice, creating a dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation, and the enduring human fascination with refined materials.

Through Aéras, listeners embark on a journey across time and cultures, discovering the wonder of a material that has inspired generations. It is a celebration of beauty, history, and the extraordinary possibilities that arise when art, sound, and human imagination converge.

The event is part of the official programme commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Italy and Singapore and Japan.

Ayumi Togo was born in Japan where she obtained her Master of Vocal Specialisation in Pedagogical Teaching at Osaka Kyoiku University in 2002. Ayumi has performed as a soloist in festivals and concerts across the globe, and her recent performances include the Luigi Nono festival in Venice, the '900 e presente' project at The Arnold Schönberg Center in Vienna, Austria, and the 'Alt(r)i Ascolti' festival in Chamois in Valle d'Aosta.

Damiano Meacci is a musician and sound researcher who has been active for more than twenty-five years. Since the second half of the 1990s, he has been working with live electronics, collaborating with Tempo Reale on the realisation and performance of numerous works by well-known composers such as Luciano Berio and numerous artists from other backgrounds (theatre directors, choreographers, etc.) Since the 2020/2021 academic year, he has been teaching Music Informatics at the conservatory where he began his first music studies: the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence.

She performs in Sardinia at various festivals and festivals of contemporary and classical music playing in orchestra, ensemble and as a soloist performing, among others, world premiere pieces.

His productions are supported by Italian and European artistic and musical foundations and his works are commissioned by festivals all over the world: among the latest productions are "Silent" premiered at the Aperto Festival in Reggio Emilia then taken up by the LAC in Lugano and the ARS Electronica Festival in Linz (Austria), "Drammaturgie umane" for the Uffizi in Florence, "Mater" for the Endorfine Festival in Lugano, "Utera" for the 2019 Open Festival in Reggio Emilia and the Roma Europa Festival.
