A COLLABORATIVE SPACE THAT INSPIRES AND ENABLES ARTS COMMUNITIES IN ASIA AND EUROPE TO CREATE AND EXCHANGE
The AECFest is designed around three key components: showcasing a diverse range of artistic expressions, facilitating dialogue and knowledge exchange, and organising a space for industry professionals to network, share insights, and develop new ideas.
The showcasing aspect presents a wide array of art forms, from theatre to music, exhibitions, and installations, prioritising multidisciplinary projects whilst supporting both established and emerging artists. Dialogue and knowledge exchanges are fostered through panel discussions and residency programmes, promoting cross-disciplinary learning and collaboration between Asian and European artists. These serve as vital platforms for diverse perspectives and meaningful conversations on contemporary art and culture issues. Lastly, the festival will offer development and networking opportunities through the new AECFest Camp, wherein site visits, specialised workshops, and expert-led discussions will be designed to deepen insights into the festival’s themes and build lasting connections across the arts communities in Asia and Europe.
The curatorial approach for the festival programmes focuses on the theme of collaboration, sustainability, and innovation in the arts. By showcasing and supporting artists from a wide range of countries, we aim to build cultural understanding through creativity and artistic expression.
