On 8-13 July 2024, ASEF Governors from across Asia and Europe, including from the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) gathered in Bali, Indonesia for the 45th ASEF Board of Governors Annual Meeting.
The Board of Governors gathered to oversee the regular business of the Foundation, namely, assess ASEF strategy and policies, analyse its finances and approve the projects and intiatives for 2025. This year marked a special occasion, as Ambassador MORIKAWA Toru (Japan), ASEF Executive Director, completed his 4-year term at the helm of the organisation. As such, the Board also had the chance to elect the new ASEF Leadership for 2024-2028. Ms Beata STOCZYNSKA (Poland) was elected ASEF Executive Director, and Mr ZHANG Lei (China) was elected ASEF Deputy Executive Director.
