ASEF presented Gold and Merit Awards to 6 ASEF ClassNet projects. Facilitated by secondary and high school educators from Asia and Europe, these online projects involved 73 teachers and 1,233 students from 39 schools in 19 countries.

The project coordinator and a student representative from each group co-presented their projects during the 11th ASEF Classroom Network Conference, which took place from 28 October to 1 November 2013 in Bali, Indonesia.  The jury included Ambassador SOEMADI Brotodiningrat, ASEF Governor for Indonesia, Ms Edwige ROZIER, Acting Director for Education Department and Ms Deli CONNELL, National UNESCO ASPnet Coordinator in New Zealand.

During the farewell dinner, the Gold Awards (cash prize of EUR 2,000) were conferred on the project groups: “Dream Tours”; “iMagz – Making Myself Heard” and “International Village – Thumbs Up for SketchUp!”  The other finalists, “Chain Stories 2013”, “Let’s Eat” and “The Time Machine” received the Merit Awards (cash prize of EUR 500). The cash prizes will be used to either further develop the project or initiate a new one.
