ASEF congratulates Professor Tommy Koh on being awarded the 2026 Ramon Magsaysay Award on 31 August 2026, in recognition of his decades of service to international diplomacy, cooperation and dialogue.

Professor Koh holds a special place in ASEF’s history as its founding Executive Director (1997–2000), helping shape the Foundation in its formative years and advance its mission to strengthen understanding and cooperation between Asia and Europe. His longstanding commitment to dialogue and mutual understanding has made a lasting contribution to the region and beyond. ASEF is glad to celebrate this well-deserved recognition of his distinguished contributions.
