The ASEF LinkUp Fieldbook Yogyakarta Iteration, reflecting on the relevance of gotong royong and collective responsibility in cultural diplomacy from the recent ASEF LinkUp | Asia-Europe Cultural Diplomacy Lab in June 2025, is now launched.
16 participants from the arts and cultural sector, governmental and institutional representatives gathered in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from 18 to 21 June 2025, exploring the importance of shared efforts, inclusive partnerships and participation in cultural diplomacy.
The Fieldbook includes:
- Principles and reflections on cultural diplomacy through the lens of gotong royong, an ethos of mutual responsibility and collective care
- Six case studies across Asia and Europe showcasing policies and practice that serve as inspiration for those working in the international cultural cooperation field
- Ideas for building a community of practice
- Mini tools to implement international cultural relations project
