We are thrilled to announce the upcoming publication of the ASEFClassNet18 Faculty Collaboration Book titled:
“Effective, Inclusive, and Ethical Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED) Design: Innovations and Challenges for Sustainable Learning”.
This ambitious and timely project brings together 40+ dedicated academics, researchers, and teacher trainers from 30 countries across Asia and Europe, all united by a common goal: to explore how AI can be thoughtfully integrated into education in ways that are effective, inclusive, ethical, and sustainable.
The book critically examines the design, implementation, and impact of Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED), focusing on human-centered values, learner agency, and equity. With rich contributions from interdisciplinary fields and practice-based insights, this publication seeks to reimagine how AIED tools and frameworks can support meaningful, long-term educational outcomes.
Key themes addressed include:
-
Aligning AIED innovations with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education
-
Navigating ethical dilemmas in AI integration
-
Designing for inclusion and accessibility
-
Ensuring cultural sensitivity and relevance across Asia-Europe contexts
The book is part of the AI and Sustainable Development series by the United Nations University (UNU) and makes a significant contribution to the global dialogue on responsible and equitable use of AI in education. It features cross-cultural research, grounded case studies, and forward-looking policy recommendations.
As a key milestone in the project, contributors will present their draft chapters during the on-site ASEFClassNet18 Faculty Collaboration Conference this November in Zhuhai, China, held alongside the China Education Innovation Expo. This event will offer a dynamic platform for reflection, collaboration, and peer feedback as the book enters its final stages of development.
Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to the book’s release—and join us in celebrating this collective effort to shape a more just, inclusive, and sustainable future for education through AI.
