In partnership with Oriente Occidente, the 6th Edition of Asia-Europe Cultural Festival will take place from 30 August – 7 September in Rovereto and Trento, Italy. Presented by ASEF since 2018, the Festival offers a diverse range of programmes and celebrates the artistic diversity of Asia and Europe and promotes dialogue and exchange amongst artists from the two regions.
This year’s Festival emulates a “festival in a festival” format, with events to be held within the framework of the Oriente Occidente Dance Festival. The programme will allow audiences to experience events spanning dance, video art, multidisciplinary art installation and music by artists from China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, the Philippines, Singapore, United Kingdom and Viet Nam.
Ahead of the main Festival which will be held for the first time in Italy, there will be an official curtain raiser in June in collaboration with Temenggong Artists-in-Residence and a series of closing events in September, both to be held in Singapore.
These artistic showcases increase awareness about the richness of Asian and European cultures among the governments, arts communities and general public of both regions. Through these, the Festival also aims to foster artistic collaborations and ignite connections between the two continents known for their diversity and creativity.
