Expanding its reach across Asia and Europe, AECFest 2025 presents its Closing Curtain for the first time in two countries — Singapore and Lao PDR. This edition brings together artists from eight countries, spanning exhibitions, dance, multidisciplinary performance, and panel discussion, celebrating cultural exchange and creative collaboration.
In Singapore (4–12 October), the festival features Between Lands: Migration as Transformation, developed in collaboration with The Substation and three emerging Singaporean curators, offering a multi-voiced exploration of migration and displacement. Cross-cultural collaborations Calligraton and Aéras, included in the 60th anniversary programme of diplomatic relations with Italy and Japan, showcase innovative performances blending tradition, technology, and contemporary artistry.
The programme concludes in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on 15 October with Phuying by choreographer Noutnapha Soydala and Fanglao Dance Company, a dance performance reflecting the lives and experiences of contemporary Laotian women. The event will be held in conjunction with Meeting Point 2025 organised by Mekong Cultural Hub.
Together, these events exemplify AECFest’s commitment to fostering cultural diplomacy, artistic innovation, and enduring connections across Asia and Europe.
