ASEF is Seeking a Talented Designer for Our 2025 Annual Report

Background:

ASEF is an intergovernmental not-for-profit organisation which promotes understanding, strengthens relationships and facilitates cooperation among the people, institutions and organisations of Asia and Europe. It seeks to enhance dialogue and exchanges, and encourage collaboration across the areas of Culture, Education, Governance, Economy, Media, Public health and Sustainable Development. Founded in 1997, ASEF is based in Singapore and the only institution of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).  Together with over 200 partner organisations, ASEF has conducted more than 280 projects, mainly conferences, seminars and workshops attended by over 41,000 Asians and Europeans. ASEF further expands its reach to a wider audience through its social media networks, websites, publications and exhibitions.

Highlights of Achievements for 2025

In 2025, ASEF implemented projects across the themes of Communication, Culture, Education, Governance and Public Health. Throughout the year, our work placed particular emphasis on two key cross-cutting topics: Artificial Intelligence, Innovation & Digitalisation, and Promoting Green Initiatives, Sustainability & the Environment.

Alongside our project activities, ASEF expanded its visibility through events, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and strengthened engagement with our stakeholders in Asia and Europe. We also enhanced websites and social media platforms (introduced ASEF Instagram) to strengthen ASEF’s outreach. These improvements have helped raise our visibility and better connect our work with audiences across Asia and Europe.

Project Overview:

• Purpose: Design the 2025 Annual Report for the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF).
• Scope: The design should encompass the entire report, including the cover, approximately 60-70 interior pages, infographics and proofreading.
• Theme: In 2025, ASEF’s work centred on two key thematic areas: Artificial Intelligence, Innovation & Digitalisation, and Promoting Green Initiatives, Sustainability & the Environment. ASEF is committed to its role as a bridge between Asia and Europe, promoting mutual understanding and facilitating cooperation to deal with shared challenges and share success stories. Looking ahead to 2026, ASEF will focus on Topics of the Year: Human-Centred Approach, Digitalisation and Green Transition.

The Annual Report design should visually express this commitment and showing a clear progression from 2025 to 2026, reflecting continuity between this year’s achievements and next year’s priorities.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in designing annual reports or similar publications. Samples of previous work are required.
• Skills: Strong graphic design abilities, including typography, layout and colour theory.
• Creativity: Ability to create visually appealing and innovative designs that align with ASEF’s brand and messaging.
• Attention to Detail: High accuracy, punctuality and proofreading.
• Print version: Selected designer is required to produce 10 hardcopies of the final version.
