The 14th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights will take place on 18-20 November 2014 in Hanoi, Viet Nam, on the topic “Human Rights and Businesses”. Over 100 civil society and government representatives, from across Asia and Europe are expected to participate in the 3-day Seminar. Discussions will focus on 4 key aspects of the debate, namely the State duty to protect human rights against violations by businesses; Corporate responsibility and its contribution to human rights implementation; Monitoring, reporting and access to remedies; and Multi-stakeholder cooperation.

Key messages from the Seminar will be shared with ASEM governments and civil society. The Seminar report, once prepared, will also be available for download. Information about the 14th Informal ASEM Seminar can be found here.

The Seminar series is organised by ASEF, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs. The 14th Informal ASEM Seminar is hosted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
