This edition of the ASEF Youth Report summarises nearly 4,000 young leaders’ perspectives from 51 Asian and European countries on the future that young people envision for Society 5.0, and how we can prepare them. The Report addresses two foundational questions crucial for shaping a more sustainable, digitally integrated future:
→ What is the future, or Society 5.0, that young people wish to see? Understanding their vision is key to ensuring that societal advancements reflect their aspirations and values
→ How do we prepare and train young leaders for this future society? Including soft skills, values based, as well as technical hard skills
This report is part of the ASEFYLS Capacity Buildings 2024 project, which aims at creating people-to-people connections, and fuels conversations with evidence-based intellectual inputs, such as this report.
The recommendations and insights in this report strive to ignite conversations among influential individuals within their countries, organisations, educational institutions, and communities, shedding light on the best ways to empower aspiring young leaders.
Join us on 28 February 2025 in this online launch event, where you can hear directly from the author, Dr Han-Ei CHEW, UNESCO Inclusive Policy Lab, on the Report’s findings, as well as join a Q&A with young leaders from the ASEFYLS Capacity Buildings 2024. View the tentative programme here.
