The Asia-Europe Environment Forum (ENVforum) will host the Annual Conference on the implementation and financing of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on 6–7 September 2017 in Hanoi, Viet Nam, in partnership with the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam.
Almost 2 years after the introduction of the SDGs, many stakeholders are ready to share their efforts to meet the 17 globally agreed goals under the 2030 Agenda. This undertaking will change the economic landscape both on the global and regional level, raising many challenges but also creating opportunities for further value creation.
Among their key questions: How can businesses accomplish this transition and integrate SDGs in their business strategy? And who is going to pay for it?
The Conference offers a platform for exchange between representatives from the public and private sector, as well as from civil society, with the objective to explore potential funding sources for the 2030 Agenda and support multi-stakeholder, regional and international dialogue on Public-Private-Partnership and Sustainable Businesses from the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) partner countries.
Speakers from relevant ministries, international experts working on SDG implementation, as well as sustainable development finance experts and practitioners will contribute their experiences and ideas, and encourage an innovative discussion.
Since 2003, the ENVforum has hosted conferences in partnership with the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), Hanns Seidel Foundation, ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center (ASEIC), Government of Sweden through the Regional Asia Environment Regional Asia Environment Conference Support Programme administered by Stockholm Environment Institute, and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies.
