ASEF Creative Networks (2014-2016)

Programme

Share:

Cultural networks, particularly informal ones, are emerging as increasingly significant channels of Asia-Europe dialogue and co-operation in the arts. This growing phenomenon is particularly well documented in Europe and growing in Asia. Through ASEF Creative Networks, ASEF promotes the establishment of sustainable professional alliances between Asia and Europe, which are based on mutual trust, fair exchange and reciprocity. In addition, there is an urgent need for better Asia-Europe balance in international cultural platforms & networks.

In 2014, ASEF Creative Networks was launched as a project series to facilitate greater exchange and collaboration among cultural networks in Asia and Europe. 3 editions of the project have taken place in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In total, they have resulted in 10 activities, comprising of 23 events in 13 ASEM countries. Selection was through a competitive open call for applications. Having completed a 3-year cycle, an evaluation is being proposed in 2017 to better understand the long-term impact of the project series and the suitability of the project format to support networks in future.

In 2017, ASEF Creative Networks was officially closed with an external evaluation completed in 2018. ASEF continues to support mutual cultural practices through its Cultural Mobility Grant – Mobility First! All detailsASEF.live/mobilityfirst2019
