ASEF Higher Education Programme (AHEP) Advisory Committee (AC)

Estalished in 2006, an Advisory Committee played an observatory and guiding role in the ASEF Higher Education Programme (AHEP) until 2013.

As an observatory, the Comittee monitored and reflected on the trends and developments in the higher education sector in Asia and Europe as well as existing co-operation between the two regions to ensure an appropriate flow of information among stakeholders; to identify relevant areas for enhanced Asia-Europe co-operation; and to propose new initiatives.

As a guiding body, the Comittee provided strategic recommendations for the further development of the Programme, as well as possible means to enhance effectiveness of existing projects.

The Committee members met annually to evaluate and review higher education-related initiatives undertaken by ASEF and its partners. The Committee consisted of representatives of relevant higher education organisations and networks in Asia and Europe; and academics and practitioners who had interest and solid experience in bilateral higher education co-operation.
