Since 2023, ASEF LinkUp | Asia-Europe Cultural Diplomacy Lab was developed to bring the arts sector closer to the government sector, enabling common spaces for mutual knowledge, intercultural learning and cultural collaboration amongst various agents involved in international cultural cooperation.

ASEF LinkUp | Asia-Europe Cultural Diplomacy Lab is a laboratory for cultural diplomacy in action. It creates rare meeting grounds between the arts and government sectors in Asia and Europe, fostering encounters that would not otherwise take place and offering safe spaces for exchange, reflection and experimentation.

Launched since 2023, the objectives of ASEF LinkUp are:

  • To foster an understanding of cultural diplomacy and advocate for innovative ways of rethinking cultural diplomacy for today’s realities
  • To create a Fellowship of professionals (Community of Practice) involved in cultural diplomacy projects that will be connected and grow throughout each yearly edition
  • To develop capacity and networking opportunities for arts practitioners, professionals and institutional and public sector representatives working in the international cultural cooperation field
