19th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights: "Human Rights Education & Training"

This document is the Executive Summary of the 19th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights Publication.

The Asia-Europe Foundation’s (ASEF) Governance & Economy department and its partners are proud to publish the findings and recommendations of the 19th Informal ASEM Seminar on “Human Rights Education & Training” (ASEMHRS19) held on 4-6 November 2019 in Tromsø, Norway.

Providing a comprehensive background on human rights education in Asia and Europe, the publication is an essential resource for both practitioners and scholars who work in the field of human rights education.

Through a concise Seminar Report, interested parties can read up the latest findings and results of the 4 individual working groups. The Background Paper of the Seminar is written by the two main rapporteurs of the Seminar, Dr Sriprapha Petcharamesree and Frank Elbers.

The Seminar was co-organised by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (nominated by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs), the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs, the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Peoples’ Republic of China. The 19th Seminar was hosted by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Arctic University of Norway (UiT).
