As universities navigate the latest technological revolution that is AI, they face an imperative to adapt to sweeping changes that this transformative force brings to the Asia-Europe education landscape. Now, universities find themselves at a crossroads as they deal with unprecedented opportunities and complex challenges.
The publication features 16 forward-looking position papers written by our online cohort for the project’s online programme, which ran from May to June this year. Using the Scenario Planning Method, our intercultural and multidisciplinary teams produced papers that seek to explore and present what could be universities’ role in different aspects of future AI innovation ecosystems.
This volume is divided into three main sections aligned with ASEFInnoLab5’s areas of focus: Universities’ Role in AI Governance by 2060, Universities’ Role in AI in Education by 2060, and Universities’ Role in AI for Sustainable Development by 2060.
We are proud to present this output to the public and invite all to join us as we showcase the online cohort’s work.
You will learn more about the approach the teams used in developing their papers and hear an overview of the publication’s contents through mini-panel discussions with select members of the cohort. There will be a Q&A after each thematic panel, where we will address the webinar audience to answer questions and explore key ideas.
Join us as we launch this collection of works that explore what could be the future role of universities in the fast-paced, evolving context of AI! The event is for registered participants only, so please confirm your attendance by registering through this link or scanning the QR code over here ➤
ASEFInnoLab5, now in its closing phase, began with an online programme from May to June 2024 which gathered 87 participants from 31 countries from Asia and Europe. Outstanding members of the cohort were invited to join the onsite leg held at Fudan University in Shanghai, China from 21 to 25 October 2024. Our impressive group of 51 participants form 22 countries engaged in a week-long interactive learning experience to produce high-level white papers, which are now under development.
