The ASEF Young Leaders Summit (ASEFYLS) is the place for Asian and European young professionals and students to connect, dialogue and learn from one another. It is the forum for youth to voice their ideas and develop their leadership capacities.
The ASEF Young Leaders Summit (ASEFYLS) is a Youth platform that connects young people across Asia & Europe, applying a 360 degree approach on leadership development and community engagement: 1) self-leadership (you), 2) team leadership (we) and 3) societal leadership (all).
It aims to give #Youth the opportunity to:
The ASEFYLS is built on 4 programme elements:
1) Knowledge Building Phase
Participants attend online crash courses on policy making, leadership and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and build up thematic expertise for the conference on site.
2) Leadership in Action activities
The ASEFYLS format allows participants to collaborate to solve global societal challenges.
3) On-Site Programme
The programme includes a variety of learning formats: thematic lectures, human libraries, skills trainings, collaborative working groups and dialogue sessions between junior and senior leaders from politics, business and academia.
4) Connections with Asian and European Leaders
At the ASEFYLS, one-to-one meetings are arranged between participants and decision makers.
The ASEFYLS Capacity Training 2026 is a youth leadership programme focusing on ‘Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centered Future’, with a 8-week collaborative online Training programme. Selected participants from the online training will also be invited to join the ‘Asia-Europe Youth Leadership Training: Anticipatory Leadership in the Arctic’.
The ASEFYLS2026 programme takes place from June to July 2026 and consists of 2 programme elements with the aim to give participants the opportunity to learn, to collaborate and to turn theory into action: (1) the Online Training (2) Multiplier Activities in Local Communities.
