AEEF13, entitled Global Macro-economic Policy Coordination in the New Era, took place on 21-22 September 2016 in Beijing, China. The event was jointly organised by host Chongyang Institute of Finance at Renmin University of China, the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), the Korea University on the Asian side, and the Centre d’Etudes Prospectives et d’Informations Internationales (CEPII), Bruegel and Bertelsmann Stiftung on the European side, with the support of the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF).
The Conference brought together various different high-ranking participants, including active and former senior policymakers, recognized academic experts and private sector specialists, to discuss key economic issues relevant to Asia and Europe. Topics under discussion included the current situation of the global economy, the Chinese economy in the “new normal,” financial openness and regulation, trade and investment, G20 issues, as well as inequality and the world economy.
The AEEF consortium consists of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), Bertelsmann Stiftung, Bruegel (overall secretariat), Centre d’Etudes Prospectives et d’Informations Internationales (CEPII), the Chongyang Institute of Finance at the Renmin University of China, Caixin Insight Group, and Korea University.
