Background of the ASEFClassNet Project Series
For over two decades, the ASEF Classroom Network has connected secondary, high, and vocational school teachers across Asia and Europe, providing them with opportunities to experiment, share ideas, and develop creative solutions to common educational challenges. More than 2,800 teachers have taken part in its activities, impacting over 40,000 students through over 125 Innovative Teaching Practices and 430 collaborative projects and local spin-off initiatives. ASEFClassNet18 Concept
Building up on the ASEFClassNet17 project on “Learning about AI and Learning with AI”, the 18th edition of the ASEF Classroom Network (ASEFClassNet18) project series focuses on the topic, “Effective, Inclusive, and Ethical Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED) Design.”
The ASEFClassNet18 project will focus on “Effective, Inclusive, and Ethical Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED) Design.” The project aims to amplify teachers’ voices, enhance their capacity, and address gaps in discussions and resources on AIED. By bridging the educational ecosystem with EdTech designers, ASEFClassNet18 seeks to empower teachers and shape the future of learning.

There are two parallel tracks and platforms to engage with:
This activity is for teachers and school leaders at the secondary education level to develop their knowledge on the topic as well as advocacy and leadership skills for integrating ethical and effective AI innovation in classrooms across Asian and European schools.
This activity is for academic experts (professors, researchers, teacher trainers, etc.) in Higher Education Institutions to engage in critical and timely conversations on integrating ethical and effective AI innovation to identify crucial areas and work in partnerships to create collaborative resources on the topic based on the discussion findings.
Through these two platforms, we plan to engage over 300 participants over a period of 7-8 months, and to increase awareness and understanding of issues related to AI&ED and AIED based on effectiveness and a strong ethical foundation.
