WHAT IS #ASEFInnoLab?
The ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory (ASEFInnoLab) creates opportunities for higher education managers from 51 countries in Asia and Europe to expand their professional network, exchange knowledge, and collaboratively build their capacity to address shared global challenges.
WHAT WAS ASEFINNOLAB3 ABOUT?
The third ASEF Higher Education Innovation Laboratory (ASEFInnoLab3) is titled: ‘Universities’ Role in Teaching AI Skills and Entrepreneurship” and provides an opportunity for participants to exchange good practices, co-create new ideas and explore areas for collaboration among their institutions. ASEFInnoLab3 is a 5-week online programme that brings together academics and senior administrators from higher education institutions to develop joint action plans concerning the universities’ role in teaching AI skills and entrepreneurship.
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?
ASEFInnoLab3 is designed for academics and senior administrators from higher education institutions interested in joining a cohort of like-minded peers who want to exchange knowledge, expand their professional network, and collaborate to address challenges concerning teaching AI skills and AI entrepreneurship systems.
WHAT ARE THE OUTCOMES FOR PARTICIPANTS?
This programme provides participants with the opportunity to:
EXPAND UNDERSTANDING OF AI SKILL NEEDS
The Lab will help participants to understand the role of higher education in filling the skills gaps in the field of AI; expand knowledge on different strategies and learn about good practices in Asia and Europe countries.
EXPAND PROFESSIONAL NETWORK ACROSS ASIA AND EUROPE
The Lab will provide diverse opportunities for interaction and cooperation for participants from different countries in Asia and Europe. Therefore, we fully expect new bilateral and multi-lateral partnerships to emerge.
A CONCRETE COLLABORATIVE PROJECT
Participants will jointly develop a group project e.g. joint curriculum development, joint research proposal, study exchanges, internship programmes, incubator enhancement, etc., to build connections and have a concrete output after they complete the programme.
WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAMME?
This 5-week programme takes place online from 28 June – 26 July 2023. Participants must allocate approximately 4 hours per week to prepare for and participate in the sessions. The programme has two distinct types of sessions:
Learning Sessions | Every Wednesday
The Learning Session is a 2-hour session that takes place every Wednesday, 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM (UTC) (Convert Time Here), from 28 June to 26 July 2023. In each Learning Session, participants will hear from leading experts in the field of AI skills and entrepreneurship. Within the session, time will be allocated for participants to ask questions and engage in discussion with the experts, facilitators and their peers.
Action Sessions | Once a week
The Action Sessions are dedicated to developing joint projects amongst pairs e.g. curriculum development, joint research proposal, study exchanges, internship programmes, incubator enhancement, etc. The Action Session is also for small group discussions, allowing participants not only to work with their pair but also engage peers in a small group setting.
THE WEEKLY PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
Session 1 | 28 June 2023
The opening session will introduce participants to the ASEFInnoLab3 Programme, the Facilitators, Mentors, and their Peers. Participants will also be introduced to the Canvas specifically designed for the Lab which will guide participants in developing joint projects. Lastly, the session will also introduce the topic of Systems Thinking.
Session 2 | 5 July 2023
The second session focuses on Value Proposition, Target Groups, Outcomes and Impact. This discussion will guide participants in determining how to proceed with the development of a joint project.
Session 3 | 12 July 2023
The third session focuses on Activities, Resources, and Stakeholder Groups. These elements are essential to developing the joint project.
Session 4 | 19 July 2023
The fourth session focuses on Leadership and Selling your idea. Essential in seeing through the joint project is leadership and communication skills.
Session 5 | 26 July 2023
The last session of the Lab is dedicated to the presentation of participants. Each pair will have the opportunity to present their joint project to peers, mentors, and facilitators.
