What is #ASEFClassNet?
For over two decades, the ASEF Classroom Network (#ASEFClassNet) has been providing capacity-building opportunities for collaborative teaching and learning and a platform to explore the potential of cutting-edge EdTech tools and the integration of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in secondary, high, and vocational schools in the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Partner countries. Its target group is broad, given its intergenerational & multi-stakeholder outreach. It ranges from students, teachers, school leaders, teacher trainers, researchers, policymakers, and to EdTech experts. Since its inception, about 1,900 teachers from all 51 ASEM Partner countries have participated in and become members of the ASEF Classroom Network. As a result, about 35,000 students have been engaged in over 430 Asia-Europe School Collaborations and local spin-off activities.
4th ASEF Classroom Network Conference (#ASEFClassNet04)
The 4th Asia-Europe Classroom (AEC) International Teacher’s Conference was co-organised in collaboration with Kreisgymnasium Neustadt from 27 September to 1 October 2004 in Groemitz, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
Themed “Use and Integration of Infocomm Technology in Education: A Pedagogical Vision or Horror?”, the conference gathered 65 teachers to initiate eight promising new School Collaborations. These School Collaborations will be implemented by the participating schools over a span of eight months, after which they would be assessed for the ASEFClassNet Award with a cash prize of USD 2,500.
As with past ASEF Classroom Network Conferences, ASEF conferred the ASEFClassNet Awards to the most outstanding School Collaborations completed from the last edition of the ASEFClassroom Network Conference who took place in Bogor, Indonesia in September 2003. The winner of the ASEF ClassNet Awards were:

In addition, the conference also enabled the teacher participants to have a better understanding the cultural and education systems of Germany, through cultural and local schools visits in Schleswig-Holstein.
