This month, ASEF’s arts and culture platform, culture360.ASEF.org is focusing on sustainability and its different aspects for the arts and cultural sector. We are looking for writers to share your insights and experiences in the form of articles (either features or interviews), podcasts and video interviews for the Insights section of our website.
What type of editorial content are we looking for?
While a strong narrative around the gravity of the climate crisis and environmental degradation in and through the arts and culture sector has been built, the definition of sustainability would not be complete without looking at the economic, social and cultural/heritage dimensions.
Sustainability in the sector also involves supporting the well-being, health, equity, and long-term growth of individuals, communities and societies. This is a key takeaway from the “Recalibrating the Compass: Sustainable and Ethical Practices in the Cultural Sector” online roundtable organised by ASEF in 2022. Beyond profitability and political changes, is there a sustainable way of operating in the arts and build resilient arts organisations and arts practices? How do we develop a sustainable career in the sector? What about sustainability in heritage preservation, promotion and management?
Through articles (either features or interviews), podcasts and video interviews for the Insights section of our website, we invite writers to explore – is there more to sustainability beyond ‘greening’?
